"Pompano Beach, Florida. 1st was Rick Smith, 2nd Rod Cowell and I think (Rowdy) Rick Stone was third.
I remember the finish well. Rick and I were tied on points and had a two man run off for the Championship we both crashed.
They gave the race to Rick because he and his bike went further down the track them me." Rod Cowell

| The rider list was an insert to the prog and as you will see it included a lot of Californian riders who were not there. Maybe (probably) a case of wishful thinking by the promoter. |

| This one was at the Seminole Rodeo Showgrounds which I gather was near Fort Lauderdale. A series or races were held there in 1983 but that was the only year that speedway was staged there. The program is from early January 1983 but I don't know the precise date. |
