| I had been introduced to speedway at Cal Expo in 1972 and after being sent to Germany with the US Army I found this race. |
| I met Ole Olsen here, I had no idea he was a World Champion. He took the time to help me find out where speedway races were being held around the continent. A real gentleman to me and my silly questions. |
| Ole was an added attraction when Egon Muller pulled out. |
