Here is a program I have and a news paper article. I remember the first race was June 5, 1976 and we raced every other week. Not sure of how many races we had there. I remember someone saying they needed about 1500 fans to break even but they were only getting 1200 so they quit. Don Basile said he made money off the MX guys because they just got trophies and he had to pay the speedway guys money so he was losing money on them. This was a second division track. I had a book with all the dates that I raced but I can't find it. If I do I will let you know how many races we had there. Bob Basile told me they ran about 12 races. He said the first couple of weeks had good crowds but his dad didn't think they needed to advertise any more so he stopped advertising and the crowds dropped off. The radio stations were sold out of advertising spots for the rest of the summer so they couldn't get an advertisement spot. So that was the end of racing speedway bikes at South Bay Speedway.
